What we do!
An attic installation of Arctic shield is the most effective way of installing insulation. We all know heat rises and that all of our heating vents point straight up. So as the heat rises in your home it then hits the insulation in the attic. Arctic Shield reflects 97 % of this rising heat directly back into the area you are conditioning.
Mass insulation’s that we traditionally use only slow down the heat transfer.
When Arctic Clad is installed in your attic we start with removing any insulation that is over the soffit area of your home. (This is very common with Cellulose installations) If this insulation is not removed it stops air flow into your attic. Your soffit provides air intake then your ridge venting, gable ends or whirly birds complete the air flow.
Moisture is bad in an attic and it happens from rain, snow, and humidity in the air, it will eventually cause black mold in your home, so we next inspect the insulation that had previously been installed. If there is any soiled insulation we place it in bags and dispose of it.
All traditional insulation needs replacement after 10 -14 years. Arctic Shield will never need replacing.
Next we install additional venting for your attic, these vents run from the soffit line up 4 feet into your attic, this increases air flow and insulation then works more effectively.
Our next step is then to cover your attic from soffit line to soffit line with Arctic Shield insulation, and completes the installation.

Why it Works!
Arctic Clad insulation is a reflective insulation which works exactly like a thermos, which has highly polished mirrors inside to keep our liquids hot or cold. Arctic Clad reflects 97% of your heat back into the area you are conditioning. Arctic Clad is a dual sided 99.5 % aluminum insulation that reflects 97.5% of the heat back to where it is suppose to be. Arctic clad insulation reacts just like the sun and warms everything in your home from counters, to beds, to leather furniture that can be uncomfortable cold or warm.
Arctic Clad insulation also in summer reflects the heat away from our homes or commercial buildings resulting in less or no air conditioning needed, especially for the upstairs bedrooms where we turn fans on in summer to cool us while we sleep. (see illustration below)
